Responsibility and Strategy
For Interzero, sustainability is at the heart of our business strategy. We take responsibility in all our business activities – for our customers and employees, as well as for the environment and society in general. Together we are committed to creating a world without waste and protecting this unique planet
Vision & Mission: a future without waste
Based on our “zero waste solutions” vision and guided by our sustainability strategy, we are developing new projects for a closing the loop economy. Together with our customers, employees and partners, we work on shared solutions that help protect our climate and preserve our resources.
Zero waste solutions: our sustainability strategy
You can find our current sustainability agenda for the strategy here:
no waste of ideas
no waste of resources
zero waste solutions
Successful transformation processes thrive on innovations. We test every idea that brings us closer to closed loops , even at risk of failure. This is the only way to create the disruptive changes our linear economic system needs.
We support our clients to professionalize their sustainable practices and integrate sustainability into their reporting processes. To do this, we fully exploit the digitalization potential of our services.
In order to extend the life of the products , we open new markets and expand the business models developed for this purpose in such a way as to achieve annual sales growth with them.
To enable industry and commerce to use resources more efficiently than before, we are developing new design approaches for recycling together with our customers
From our point of view, only the use of resources that does not allow any waste is sustainable. That's why we look for new ways to close the loops every day.
To rid the planet of plastic waste in the long term, we develop new recycling solutions for plastic raw materials every year. We are also increasing the quality and quantity of secondary raw materials that we produce from plastic waste and offer to industry for further processing.
To limit global warming to below 2 degrees, global resource consumption must be decoupled from economic growth. To do this, we are closing new material and logistics cycles with which we want to save at least 5 million tons of raw materials and 800,000 tons of CO 2 every year.
To significantly reduce the per capita environmental impact of waste generation, especially in cities, we are committed to waste avoidance and significantly increasing material recycling rates.
Our employees and their skills are the core of our competence as an environmental services provider. In order for them to function optimally for our customers every day, constant commitment to their health, motivation and further development is required.
We want to promote the physical and mental health of our employees and reduce our rates of illness, injury and fluctuations below the industry average. This is why we create a safe, value-oriented, innovative and development-promoting work environment.
We want the full and effective participation of everyone - regardless of age, gender, origin, religion or social status - to become a reality at all decision-making levels. This is why we guarantee the greatest possible equal opportunity for all (potential) employees of our company.
Developing a comprehensive circular economy requires that we share our experiences and knowledge , not only with our customers, but across all sectors of the economy and society. Only in this way can we adequately convey the ecological and economic benefits of efficient recycling management.
We consider it our task to promote sustainable lifestyles and consumption habits. As intermediaries, we ensure that knowledge of the circular economy is developed in education, politics, business and society.
We want to develop cross-sector approaches and standards for circular economy solutions and scale them (internationally). To achieve this, we work closely with our partners, stakeholders, suppliers and customers.
At the same time, we create freedom for our employees to participate in appropriate initiatives for the development of circular economy solutions.
no waste of talents
no waste of knowledge
Take concrete steps to implement our climate strategy
50% reduction in emissions at our sites by 2025
Our services are helping customers reduce greenhouse gas emissions and conserve resources. But our commercial activities also produce CO2 emissions. Our goal is to reduce emissions and thus play our role in achieving the climate target set in 2015 at the United Nations Climate Conference, namely to limit the temperature rise to below two degrees Celsius . To do this, we design internal processes and activities to be as neutral, in terms of resource consumption, and efficient as possible. We have used the calculation of our corporate carbon footprint to formulate our climate strategy and specific objectives:
- 50% reduction in emissions per site (Scope 1 and 2) by 2025
- Continuous identification of optimization potential in logistics and the goal of reducing logistics-related emissions
- Annual savings of at least 5.5 million tonnes of resources and 800,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent thanks to the services offered
